Musi O Tunya Congregation turns 25
1, 975 members participated in a divine service conducted by District Apostle Charles Ndandula on 11 March 2017 at Musi O Tunya Congregation in Livingstone to commemorate 25 years of its existence. Psalms 34:8-9 was used as text word:
“Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!”
Before this, a silver Jubilee Anniversary concert with District Apostle Ndandula and his entourage was arranged at Musi O Tunya church on Friday, March 10, 2017.
District Apostle Ndandula could not hide his appreciation of the splendid performance during the concert.
“Excellent!" He exclaimed.
"This was a wonderful performance and indeed, it was worth our time. I feel we have been fully prepared for tomorrow’s divine service,” he said.
Friday’s musical concert and the visit of the District Apostle marked the beginning of the preparations for the visit of the Chief Apostle, Jean Luc Schneider, to Livingstone in April 2018.
Musi O Tunya church was dedicated to the honour and glory of God on 13th March 1992 by District Apostle Duncan B. Mfune in the presence of all 17 active Apostles based in Zambia at the time.
· The Congregation played host to a festive divine service which was conducted by Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber in 2008. In this service, 4 Bishops were ordained; two (2) for Zambia - Bishops Shem Samalela and Goldwin Nyuwa (now Apostle). The other two Bishops were for South Africa (the former Cape District Apostle Area).
· Four (4) years later, the congregation hosted a choral concert graced by Chief Apostle Leber.
· In 2015, District Apostle Markus Felbulm conducted the Thanksgiving festive divine service.
During the divine service on Saturday, 11 March 2017, five (5) District ministers were ordained for Livingstone Apostle area, while District Elder Able Mudenda was placed into retirement. Shepherd W.K.M Mununga (ir) and his dear wife, Catherine, received Ruby Wedding anniversary blessings.
After the divine service on Saturday, the District Apostle and his entourage visited Nakatindi Church in Livingstone - a proposed venue for an open air service with Chief Apostle Schneider in April 2018. About 12, 000 members are expected to attend this service.
On Sunday, 12 March 2017, District Apostle Ndandula dedicated Bethel Church of Choma-Kalomo Apostle area in Nakeempa Elder District, to the joy of 1,706 members that participated in this dedication service.
