Chief Apostle Schneider Visits Bulawayo

Arrival of Chief ApostleChief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider became the first New Apostolic Church Chief Apostle to visit church members in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe for the first ever divine service to be conducted by a Chief Apostle ministry.

Bulawayo is the second largest city in Zimbabwe after the capital city, Harare. It is one of the oldest and historically most important of Zimbabwe's towns.

Chief Apostle Schneider arrived at Bulawayo’s Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International airport on November 2, 2016 at 12:05hrs local time aboard flight SA 8110 and was received by host District Apostle Charles Ndandula, District Apostle Helper Arnold Mhango, Area Apostle Daniel Mulemba and some church members.

A small youth choir welcomed the Chief Apostle at the hotel, singing local church hymns.

ChipangaliEarlier in the morning, District Apostle Helper Joao Misselo from Angola, who was among the invited District Apostle Helpers on this programme, arrived at Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International airport at 07:45hrs local time and was received by District Apostle Helper Arnold Mhango, Apostle Daniel Mulemba and Bishop Daniel Matekenya.  

Later in the afternoon, Chief Apostle Schneider and his entourage visited Chipangali wildlife orphanage and research center, a home for orphaned, sick or abandoned wild animals. The center looks after a Leopard, a Cheetah, Lions, and many species which include antelope and a large collection of birds and snakes.

The New Apostolic Church in Bulawayo was established in 1954 when the then District Apostle Hubert Fernandes requested brother Johannes (Hannes) de Bruyne to move from the then Salisbury, present day Harare, to Bulawayo in the then Rhodesia for work.  

Currently the church in Bulawayo has many congregations in the urban and rural areas, and is looked after by two (2) District Elders and other ministers.

ServiceOn Thursday, November 3, 2016, Chief Apostle Schneider conducted a divine service at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair hall number 1, in Bulawayo.

In the divine service attended by 1, 528 members from across Zimbabwe, Chief Apostle Schneider read from 2 Corinthians 6:2

“…For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold now is the accepted time; behold now is the day of salvation.”
