DA commissions the Chibombo Church Farm

The District Apostle said this when he commissioned the New Apostolic Church Relief Organization farm in Chibombo district in Zambia on September 20, 2017.


A greenhouse used in the seed multiplication process of tomato seed and other seeds for horticulture crops “I am happy that what started as an idea is today being realized. The New Apostolic Church remains committed to implementing humanitarian programmes that would contribute to the reduction of poverty in communities,” he said.


The farm will be run by New Apostolic Church Relief Organization (NACRO), the humanitarian arm of the New Apostolic Church in Zambia, Malawi and Zimbabwe.


Factory manager Mwansa Nkhata explains to District Apostle Ndandula and his entourage the process of Tomato sauce productionThe District Apostle said the farm will be used as a skills development centre for vulnerable youths in Zambia, local farmer demonstration centre in horticulture, small scale livestock rearing and farmer empowerment through value addition.


 “With this facility, working with our cooperating partners NAKI KARITETIVE of Germany, government of the Republic of Zambia through the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Child development and other stakeholders, we will be constructing a skills development centre for the young people in our country; especially the reformed street kids. The facility would also contribute to value addition to horticulture crops such as tomato and onions,” he said.


A tomato paste factory used in the production of tomato sauce and other related productsAlready, a tomato paste factory and a greenhouse have been constructed. The greenhouse will be used for seedling production while the factory will be used to produce tomato sauce and other related products, a move that will benefit small scale farmers around that area.


Over 5,000 small scale farmers are expected to benefit from this project.


NACRO will through this establishment fulfil the mission of the New Apostolic Church.
