Floods Disrupt Divine Services

The flooded Burma church

This year, Lusaka has not been spared by floods the country faces every year. The areas that were most affected in Lusaka are Kamwala, Kuku, Kanyama, Misisi, Makeni and Chawama.

Among many of our church buildings affected by the floods is Burma congregation which has been flooded since February, 2010 and hence the members there now congregate at a nearby school for divine services and other church activities.

The water surrounding the area where the church is located is so much that the patients at the hospice next to the church had to be evacuated as some wards were flooded with rain water.

The government is making efforts to pump out the water but it has been difficult with the continuous rainfall.
