Republican President attends funeral service

 

On Friday, 26 March 2010, Priest Gibby N. Nawa who was also the highest ranked officer of the Prisons Service died in the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in Lusaka and was put to rest on Tuesday, 30 March. The funeral service, which was conducted by the District Apostle Charles S. Ndandula, was also attended by the President of the Republic of Zambia Rupiah Bwezani Banda and many cabinet ministers and members of the diplomatic corps.


Priest Nawa who was the Commissioner of Prisons Services served as a Priest in Luangwa congregation and was ordained in January 2005. 


The Text word for the funeral service was taken from Psalms 31:15 and reads:


“My times are in your hands” 


After the Funeral service, the body was flown to Kabwe where burial took place.
