
Kabumbwe Church Rededicated

It was double celebrations for members of Kabumbwe congregation in Choma area on Saturday 31 July, 2010 when the District Apostle Charles Ndandula visited them and their church building was rededicated. The District Apostle accompanied by Apostle Remmy Muyenga of Livingstone travelled to Choma in the Southern part of Zambia on Thursday 29 July, 2010 and on Friday, 30 July, 2010 the District Apostle conducted a divine service in Gamela congregation on the outskirts of Choma town where he read a text word was taken from James 2:17: "Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works is dead." During the service, two District Evangelists were ordained. After the service and fellowship in Gamela, the District Apostle and his entourage drove to Kabumbwe Church where he re-dedicated the Kabumbwe church the following day. Kabumbwe congregation is one of the oldest congregations established in 1938 by Priests Leonard Ndambo and Nasilele. The church building was built in the last 1950’s and dedicated in 1964 by late District Elder National Mwale. This building has been in existence until September 2009 when Brother James Ndambo, son of the late Apostle Henwood offered to renovate it. The whole building had to be reconstructed. Upon completion the church building was handed back to the church through area Apostle Baker Chakwana on 25 December, 2009. On Saturday 31 July, 2010 District Apostle Ndandula rededicated the church and used a text word from Genesis 22:18: "All the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice." 806 members attended the service in which 2 District Elders and 4 District Evangelists were ordained. The 3 day programme ended with a divine service in Shampande Congregation on Sunday 1 August, 2010. About 2, 703 members of whom 20 were visitors attended this service. The District Apostle read a text word from Luke 12:40: "Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect." After the service, there was a fellowship with the members who rejoiced to have the District Apostle in their midst.
