New Apostles and Bishop ordained and Bishop Chiponge retired

In a divine service conducted by Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber in Mwanza, Tanzania, two Apostles and one Bishop were ordained for Zambia District on Sunday, 14 August 2011.

Bishop Owen Kaira of Malawi, District Elder Patrick Poho of Zambia were ordained Apostles and District Evangelist Peter George Nkhana of Malawi was ordained Bishop. 

On Wednesday, August 17, 2011 District Apostle Charles Ndandula travelled to Solwezi to introduce the newly ordained Apostle Patrick Poho to the members.

Apostle Poho of Solwezi was ordained to replace the Apostle David Seulu who was retired in Mwanza.  Apostle Owen Kaira of Mzimba was ordained to replace the late Aaron Gausi who died of heart failure  on 8th September 2010.  Bishop Nkhana filled the vacancy left by the new Apostle Owen Kaira.

Apostle Poho was born in Chavuma Mission on 31st January, 1965 at Kahuma village located in the Kalombo area of Chavuma District.  He subsequently received the following ministries:

Shepherd                         :     2003 by Apostle David K. Seulu
District Elder                    :     13 November 2005 by District Apostle Charles S. Ndandula

He married Sister Prisca Kamavu and they are blessed with 5 children, two girls and three boys.

Apostle Owen Kaira was born on 6th August, 1960 at Katumbi in Rumphi District.

He was subsequently ordained into the following ministries:

Priest                                :     20 May 1987 by District Apostle Helper Duncan B. Mfune
Shepherd                         :     23 October 1988 by District Apostle Helper Duncan B. Mfune

He was ordained Bishop by Chief Apostle Richard Fehr in Lilongwe Malawi on 4th July 1993.

He married Getrude Chipeta in 1983 and they are blessed with 7 children, 4 girls and 3 boys.

Bishop George Nkhana was born on 4 December, 1953 in a place called German Mahombe village, Mzimba.

He subsequently received the following ministries:

 He married Sister Alice Chipeta on 12 March 1984 and they have two daughters.

Bishop Chiponge retired

Bishop Paul Chiponge of Mufumbwe – North – Western Province was retired by District Apostle Charles Ndandula. 

Commissioned by the Chief Apostle, the District Apostle retired Bishop Chiponge on health grounds in a divine service in Solwezi Central Church on 17 August 2011.

Bishop Chiponge was born on 6 June 1958 in Zambezi. He was sealed on 15 November 1969 and subsequently received the following ministries:

Priest                                :     19 March 1984 by Apostle Harrison Chibale
Shepherd                         :     27 August 1987 District Apostle Helper Duncan Mfune
District Elder                    :     19 November 1989 by District Apostle Duncan Mfune

He was ordained Bishop on 10 August 2003 by Chief Apostle Richard Fehr in Livingstone. He was assisting Apostle Richard Kasoma in Zambezi – Kabompo area of North - Western Province. He married Sister Maureen Kakuhu Nyakasumbi on 10 January 1985 and they are blessed with 6 daughters.

In retiring Bishop Chiponge who served for  29 years as a minister, 8 of which as a Bishop, the District Apostle said he was retiring the bishop on account of his ill health and no earthly reward was sufficient for the works the bishop had done in his service as a minister.
