Youth outing to Livingstone

On the weekend of 29 July to 1 August 2011, over 100 youths from Burma District of Lusaka East Apostle Area travelled to Livingstone for their annual youth outing.

The youths stopped over in Choma where they visited the construction site of Choma Central Church and donated 10 pockets of cement which were received by District Evangelist Sioma. This is the church building where the service for the departed by the Chief Apostle will be held next year. Later they visited the gravesite of the pioneer in the work of God in Zambia, late Apostle George Henwood and his late wife Nellie Moono Henwood.

They arrived in Livingstone around 22:00hrs and were welcomed by youths from Maramba district before proceeding to Livingstone Institute of Business Studies (LIBB) where they were accommodated.

On Saturday 30 July, the youths visited Katombora Reformatory School in Kazungula, which is an open prison for juveniles  where they donated assorted  essential items which included washing detergents, church literature and foot wear (tropicals) for the inmates.  Officer in charge Paul Simasiku Mwizabi was at hand to receive the donation and later the youths had a fellowship with the juveniles.

In the afternoon, the excited youths visited the Mighty Victoria Falls.

The climax of the outing was the combined youth service for all the youths in Livingstone which was conducted by Apostle Remmie Muyenga. This was also a preparatory service for the visit of the District Apostle to Livingstone in September, 2011.

The Apostle used a text word from Proverbs 22:28:

“Do not remove the ancient landmark which your Fathers have set.”

In his sermon, the Apostle urged the youths to remain within the boundaries of the New Apostolic Church doctrine.

Later in the day, the youths had time to visit the gravesite of the late Apostle Terry Simioti Nyambe who died in December, 2009.

Monday, August 1 was departure day for Lusaka but before leaving the youths visited the historical Livingstone Museum and Community Evangelist Collins Kabyema guided them round the Museum.
