District Apostle visits border towns
|
The District Apostle travelled to the border towns, Siavonga in Zambia and Kariba in Zimbabwe during the weekend of 3-5 December, 2010. He arrived in Siavonga, one of the towns in Zambia with the highest weather temperature on Friday, 3 December 2010 accompanied by area Apostle Michael Milupi and Apostle Ignatius Luneta of Senanga in Western province. On Friday evening, there was a fellowship where the members performed sketches and the children and youth choir sang some hymns. Following day, Saturday 4 December 2010, he travelled to the border town of the Zimbabwean side which is Kariba and conducted a divine service at Mahombekombe congregation. He read a text word from Revelation 21:7: He who overcomes shall inherit all things and will be his God. The weather in Kariba was extremely hot so that it was decided the ministers and brothers would not have their jackets on during service. This was the first visit of the District Apostle in Kariba and the members rejoiced to have the District Apostle in their midst. The District Apostle and his entourage that included Apostle Jan Welman and Bishop Daniel Mulemba of Zimbabwe travelled back to Siavonga after the service in Kariba. In the afternoon, a boat cruise was organized on Lake Kariba for the District Apostle and his entourage. On Sunday, 5 December 2010, the District Apostle conducted a divine service in Siavonga congregation and a text word was taken from Luke 1:43 45:
43 Who am I that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 Listen! When I heard your greeting, the baby inside me moved because he was glad. 45 She who has believed what was told her is blessed. What the Lord said to her will come true.' 1,012 members attended the service. During this service, District Apostle bestowed Silver anniversary marriage blessings on District Evangelist Charles Chiwawa and his wife Judith. Sunday was a special day for Apostle Milupi as he was celebrating his birthday and it was a wonderful moment when the District Apostle asked the congregant to sing the birthday song for the Apostle after service. After fellowship with the members in Siavonga, he drove back to Lusaka City.
