District Apostle Charles Ndandula greeting Chief Chitina of Mkushi

On 10 February, 2010, District Apostle Charles Ndandula accompanied by visiting Apostle Jan Welman from Zimbabwe, Apostle Stanley Munsaka of Lusaka Kabwe-East area, Bishops Joseph Muchimba –Lusaka Kabwe-East and Daniel Mulemba from Zimbabwe travelled to Mkushi to inspect a 5,359 hectares of land recently acquired by the church.

This was also an opportunity to pay homage to Chief Chitina VI who has given the church the permit to the land.

The negotiations for the acquisition of the land started in 2007 when a team comprising the Manager Administration, Priest Sundano Sundano, Area District Elder Ronald Malama, Administration officer, Shepherd Vibetti Chilufya and Community Evangelist Frank Kattundu was appointed. After many months of negotiations, Chief Chitina finally granted the farm permit to the church in 2008.

The piece of land will be used for various community and income generation projects. After meeting Chief Chitina in the church farm grounds where the District Apostle expressed gratitude, together they were taken on a guided tour of the land; it took 3 hours to inspect the entire land!

In his speech earlier, the District Apostle said the immediate plans of the church were the construction of a bridge on the Mubalashi River within the area for easy access as well as a clinic, as the nearest clinic is about 40 kilometers away.

Chief Chitina also thanked the church for bringing development to his area and assured the church of his cooperation and support.
