To end the year 2010, District Apostle Charles Ndandula held a service in Misisi congregation on 31 December 2010. This was a day of double celebrations for the members of Misisi, as it was also a dedication service. Misisi congregation is located off the Kafue road in Misisi compound which is about 3.5 Kilometers South of Lusaka city. This congregation was established in 1975 by the late Brother Philip Mwiinde who was employed at Crushed Stone Sales Limited, a company which was located in the same area. He offered his house to the congregation as there was no church building. The congregation started with 15 members. Deacon Buston Madimusta (retired District Elder) and Sub Deacon Aaron Samende conducted the services. When the membership grew to more than the capacity of the house they started congregating at Ngwenya Church. On 11 November 1997 Misisi was separated from Ngwenya. This was due to many accidents in which members were involved while crossing the Kafue road going to or coming from attending services at Ngwenya church. The first service on the Church plot was conducted on 27 November 1997 when the first project management team for construction of the church was put in place. On 25 December 1997 the foundation was laid by District Elder Buston Madimusta. With a sitting capacity of 500, the Misisi church is already too small for the congregation whose membership is 1,046. For the dedication as well as end of year service, the District Apostle read a text word from the book of Deuteronomy 33:27: “The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms; He will thrust out the enemy from before you and will say Destroy!” 1,041 members including children and 11 visitors attended this service. After the service the sisters and Sunday school children took time to render some hymns. The District Apostle and the apostles present planted some trees at the church premises after the service which is in line with the government’s policy to help conserve nature.
