
Kabwe Hosts National Council Meeting

From Wednesday 26 – Sunday 30 May, 2010, Kabwe was a hive of activity as the District Apostle and all the apostles in Zambia travelled there for the Board and National Council meetings. On Thursday, 27 May 2010, the District Apostle and members of the board had a meeting and the following day all the apostles and the management team of the church administration office attended the National Council meeting. After a busy day of the national council meeting, the District Apostle and his entourage attended a 30 minutes choral presentation before having supper. On Saturday morning the apostles visited 4 (four) churches under construction through the help of the sisters’ fund-raising efforts. One church was completed through the funding by the sisters’ fellowship. This touched the District Apostle who expressed his gratitude with the efforts of the sisters towards construction of churches. In the afternoon, it was joyful moments in Railways Congregation as the children and the youths presented a concert. The children in colourful attires rendered hymns that touched the souls of many. The climax of the programme was the divine service which was held in Kabwe Central Congregation. The service was attended by 3,511 members who included 12 visitors. During the service District Elder Leonard Mwatole Natamoyo of Serenje South elder district one of the long serving ministers was placed into retirement by the District Apostle. He served for 37 years. The text word was taken from Matthew 10:38: “And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.” The members were joyful to have fellowship with all the Zambian based apostles. This was a rare moment for them. |
