Makoswe Church Dedicated

In a rural setting in the eastern part of Lusaka city stands, the Makoswe Church, a 150 seater building in the middle of a forest.

On November 13, 2011 District Apostle Helper Robert Nsamba dedicated the Makoswe church much to the joy of the members some of whom used to walk long distances to the nearest church to attend services before this church was built.

Makoswe Congregation which is located about 50 kilometers East of Lusaka city is under the care of Apostle Stanley Munsaka. It was established by the retired Priest Paul Kabinga who came from Shantumbu Main Congregation in Lusaka East with his family of 6 to settle there, near the Zambia Army training area in October 1995.

This small congregation had its first ever sealing service in 1996 in which 18 members were sealed by Apostle Munsaka. Over a period of years, the congregation grew from a membership of 18 to 115 by the year 2002.

However, in 2003, the membership was reduced to 75 when the army requested some villages which were too close to the training area to move further away, which resulted in many of them moving to Manyika and Kafue areas.

For the dedication service, District Apostle Helper used a text word from Exodus 6: 6 - 7:

Therefore say to the children of Israel, I am the Lord, I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, I will rescue you from their bondage and I will redeem you with great judgments. I will take you as my people and I will be your God. Then you shall know that I am the Lord, your God who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians”

In his sermon, the District Apostle Helper encouraged the members to have confidence and trust in the Lord. He gave an example of Moses who trusted God when He told him to deliver the children of Israel to the Promised Land. Moses had the courage to tell the children of Israel to leave the land of Egypt after staying there for four hundred years.

The service was attended by 579 members who included a local Headman and a Headwoman.
