A New Church for Mumbwa in Nangoma District

District Apostle Charles Ndandula dedicated two Churches during the weekend of 4-5 September, 2010.

On Saturday 4 September, 2010 he dedicated Chelston main Church and after service travelled to Mumbwa 150 kilometers West of Lusaka city to dedicate the Torno Church building in Mumbwa.

Torno Congregation is located within the proximity of Zambia Air Force (ZAF) base in Mumbwa. There was no Church building in the ZAF base area of Torno despite the establishment of the New Apostolic Church doctrine, until members in 1977 organized themselves and congregated in the ZAF college hall.

Through testifying, the membership grew from 15 to 45. Because of security restrictions from ZAF authorities, the members decided to acquire a plot outside the base and in 1995 permission was granted to build a permanent structure. Through the efforts of the members and the support from Church Administration office, the Church was fully completed and dedicated on 5 September, 2010.

There was joy amongst the members who were happy to have their Church building dedicated by the District Apostle. This building stands out the area.

The service was attended by 966 members of whom 93 were visitors including Zambia Air Force (ZAF) senior officials.

During the service, the District Apostle ordained 4 District leaders and one shepherd.

The text word for the dedication of this Church was taken from the book of Psalms chapter 26:8:

"Lord, I have loved the habitation of your house, and the place where Glory dwells."

After the service the District Apostle handed over the keys to the Rector of the congregation Shepherd Nicky Muyunda.

He urged the rector to take good care of the building and the surrounding and maintain its beauty and make it readily available for the members who would like to use it for various church activities.
