Apostle Gausi put to rest

Hundreds of mourners from most parts of Malawi travelled to Mzimba to attend the funeral of Apostle Aaron Wedson Gausi.

Apostle Gausi, 60, died on Wednesday 8 September, 2010 at Mzuzu General Hospital after a heart failure due to high blood pressure. He is survived by a mother, wife, 4 children and 4 grandchildren. He was born on 25 December 1949 in Rumphi, Malawi, and was baptized in the New Apostolic Church in 1955. He was sealed by District Apostle Hubert Fernandes in the same year.

He received the following ministries in the church:

Deacon:  28 August 1974 by Apostle Gert Naude in Mphemba
Priest:  22 April 1977 by District Apostle Andrew Fernandes in Mphemba
Evangelist: 15 February 1987 by District Apostle Andrew Fernandes in Chirimba, Blantyre

Shepherd: 01 January 1988 by District Apostle Duncan Mfune in Chirimba
District Evangelist: 21 September 1996 by District Apostle Duncan Mfune in Karonga
Bishop: 21 September 1997 by Chief Apostle R. Fehr in Lusaka

He was ordained apostle on 24 September, 2000 by the retired Chief Apostle Richard Fehr, in Lilongwe, Malawi. He cared for Mzimba area which is in the northern part of Malawi.

District Apostle Charles Ndandula travelled to Malawi to conduct the funeral service. He was accompanied by 7 apostles, namely District Apostle Helper Arnold Mhango, Moses Chipanda of Lilongwe, Alexon Nyaleye of Blantyre, James Kaira of Mzuzu, Stanley Munsaka of Lusaka Central, Kububa Soko of Chipata  and Akombaetwa Samalama of Lusaka West. 

The District Apostle conducted the funeral service in Mzimba Central Congregation on Tuesday September 14, 2010. He read a text word from Isaiah 54:10:

For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from you, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, says the LORD that has mercy on you.

After the service, the funeral procession then proceeded to the late apostle’s home village, Elunyeni, which is about 18 kilometers from Mzimba town for burial.

The District Apostle described the late apostle as a kind person, who was very much appreciated by all who knew him. He served the Lord in humility and with great zeal.
