Church Helps Fire victims

Monday, 1 August 2011 was a tragic day for Brother Israel Simpungwe and family of Kanakatapa "E" congregation when their house and property were gutted by fire whilst they were attending a funeral.

The fire accident left the family homeless with nothing apart from the clothes they were wearing at the time of the incident.

The area apostle Stanley Munsaka learnt about the tragedy during his visit to Kanakatapa on 13 August 2011 where he had gone to conduct sealing services and requested for assistance from the church.

The office of the District Apostle Charles Ndandula assisted the Simpungwe family with blankets, foodstuffs and clothing worth K 1,500,000 (One Million, Five Hundred Thousand Kwacha). Apostle Munsaka presented the donation to the family on Saturday, 10 September 2011. Meanwhile the local sisters of Kanakatapa and the sisters from the Lusaka Central urban congregations also donated some clothing to the family.

Earlier on Saturday morning, the Apostle sealed 20 members in a service at Chikwasha Congregation of Kanakantapa District.

For the service he read a text word from Luke 8:46:

'But Jesus said “Somebody touched me, for I perceived power going out from me.” Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately'.

185 members attended the service.
