My dear brothers and sisters,
Once again, it is a joy for me
to share with you my thoughts and also want to lay the peace of our Lord, Jesus
Christ into your hearts.
In this address, I want to
share with you this year's message of Ascension.
We recently celebrated the
Ascension of Jesus Christ for the ascension service. I was with God's children
in Kayosha congregation in Mungule district and it is my belief you also
experienced the joy and love of ascension where you were. I read a text word
from Hebrews 5:14:
"Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the
heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confessions."
As God's children our ascension
is that we believe that we shall meet our Lord and ascend to a place He has
prepared for us.
We must also strive for a level
where we can tell the world that when they have seen us, they have seen our
Lord, Jesus Christ. We must live our faith and practice our faith, i.e. do the
works of God.
For us, to ascend also means
that we hold fast to our faith, even when we pass through bitter circumstances
and difficult days, we continue to remain faithful.
We must testify our faith and
one of the best ways to testify is our conduct in the way we live, the way we
respond to things and walk in the community.
To ascend is to carry peace all
the time, in sorrows and in bitter situations. We must profess our hope without
any doubt that the Lord is coming. We must show our childhood in God all the
time.
Let us rise and ascend from the
earthily things. The Lord ascended and we will also ascend by keeping our faith
and trust in God. If we are able to see the Lord in our fellow brothers and
sisters, then, my beloved, we shall be fully prepared for our own ascension.
Lastly, I am glad to inform you
that this month end of June, our first ever local magazine called "Joy"
will be published. I urge you to support this magazine by getting a copy and
submitting experiences of faith and other articles.
I wish you all God's richest
blessings.
